<\/a> When Maria was only 1.5 months old, the doctors have discovered peripheral dystrophy of both eyes cauased by a cytomegalovirus infection, as well as retinoblastoma in the right eye. The girl underwent a course of chemotherapy. She spent much time on intravenous therapy. The family turned to the Swiss clinic Jules Gonin, that has specialized equipment not available in Belarus and a positive experience with treating retinoblastoma in young children. At the moment, Maria has already undergone a part of the treatment: several injections of the drug Melfolan into the eye , thermo- cryo-, and two chemotherapy courses. The treatment must be continued, and the family requires financial assistance.
\nThe bill for the continued treatment comes to CHF 49,950.<\/p>\n
