SEPTEMBER 2024

Dear friends,
We are immensely grateful to you for your constant support and assistance to those in the most difficult life circumstances. Last month, we helped Mark Vasiltsov, 4 years old, Belarus, bilateral retinoblastoma, to pay for his treatment in a Swiss clinic.

Here is a message of gratitude from Mark Vasiltsov’s mother: “Good evening, Thank you so much for your help for Mark, and thank you so much for not leaving us alone when possible. Thank you for always being there. I deeply appreciate and respect it.”

Also, here is a message of gratitude from the mother of Sofia Andrus, Ukraine, 11 years old, heart defect, cerebral palsy, for whom we bought and delivered an exercise machine: “Hello, Yes, everything works wonderfully. Exactly the one we dreamed of and have been searching for all these years. Huge thanks to you and your team. God bless you.”

This month, we would like to draw your attention to a family from Georgia currently living in Düsseldorf. It is a father and son who are in urgent need of your help. Gia, who had a leg amputation, moves with the help of a prosthesis and cane. He is the only one taking care of his son Tamaz. After a car accident in 2013, Tamaz became completely paralyzed and is a quadriplegic with a tracheostomy, living in a care home for disabled people. The family was forced to leave Georgia, selling all their property to pay for treatment and moving to France, and then to Germany. Tamaz lives in difficult conditions without insurance or sufficient state support, and his father has been denied refugee status, receiving a notice to leave Germany. If Gia is forced to leave, there will be no one to care for Tamaz and fight for his health. Tamaz urgently needs treatment and rehabilitation. The cost of treatment at a rehabilitation center in Ratingen is around 1,000 euros. In addition, both of them need legal consultation regarding asylum. They previously sought legal assistance, but the lawyer took their money and did not help. To continue the case, they need 1,600 euros. The family would be grateful for financial support or volunteer assistance locally.
There is only a month left until the psychological program for psychologists and volunteers, as well as the DOBROMORE rehabilitation camp. We still have space for around 5 more volunteers and the same number of psychologists. The program will include reports and practical sessions on the following topics:

  • Living out and making decisions in situations of uncertainty;
  • Fighting depression, modern neuroscience developments;
  • Family ties and tools to support families in crisis situations;
  • Living with bipolar disorder, personal experience.
  • Assistance to families and support for parents of seriously ill children

and many other topics. Each participant will have the opportunity to ask questions and work personally with a psychologist. You can learn more about the program on our website: dobromore.eu

For the rehabilitation program, which will follow the psychological conference, seven families (about 25 people) will participate. The program is free for families, but some need help with travel expenses. For example, the Syromyatnikov family needs about 3,000 euros for tickets. They have four children, the eldest daughter survived cancer, but struggles with mobility and suffers from various nervous, endocrine, and musculoskeletal disorders. Despite the difficulties, she strives to get an education and be independent. The whole family helps her cope with the consequences of her illness, but it is challenging. Psychological support is crucial for the entire family. If you wish to support our beneficiaries, you can donate with the note Dobromore24.

Hurry to do good!
Take care of yourself and your loved ones!
With heartfelt regards,
Yours, Alina Titova
