Report 2016

During 2016 we have collected EUR 127 497 . We have received EUR 114 214 on the main account of Diakonia in Germany, and EUR 8515 on the additional account in Germany as well as on Paypal.
We have obtained EUR 20,000 from various German charity funds.
From the collected funds and the remainder from the previous year, we have spent EUR 149 500 on the treatment of children and adults and providing urgent aid to families with sick children in Germany, Russia and Ukraine.
The organizational costs of the Diakonia, expenses on the events and projects amounted to EUR 2 163,41.

35 beneficiaries have received the financial and organizational support.

In 2016, the Diaconia has realized 2 additional projects :

1. International Day of Orthodox volunteers, that brought together about 50 volunteers from 4 countries.
2. Introduction of Diaconia volunteers to working activities of the sisters of St. Dimitry School of the Sisters of Мercy and Marfo-Mariinsky Convent in Moscow.

  • The visit of seven sisters of mercy from St. Dmitry school in Moscow to German elderly houses and hospitals

We have collected EUR 93,772:

  • to the main Diakonia account in Germany – EUR 80,463
  • to an extra account in Germany – EUR 2,520
  • to the account in UK – £ 2,415 (EUR 3,360)
  • to the account in Russia – 151, 500 roubles (EUR 1 766 евро)
  • to PayPal – EUR 2,928 (except EUR 56 commission)
  • private donations – EUR 2,735

From this, we have spent EUR 75 313 :

We have provided voluntary aid and language-translation help at the location of treatment in 9 German cities to about 100 children.

In 2014, in the framework of Diakonia in Europe we have organized:
– 3 benefit concerts (Darmstadt, Stuttgart, Cologne)
– 4 charity bazaars (Stuttgart, Munich, Kleve)
– a charity art exhibition (Rotterdam)

We have collected 40 tons of humanitarian aid for children of Ukraine over entire Germany.

We have collected about EUR 35,000 for medical treatment of children.

We have secured EUR 50,000 support from German charity funds for this purpose.

About 300 voluntary aid workers have participated in our activities.
