Anastasia was diagnosed in November 2022. She underwent treatment in Germany, but her left leg could not be saved. In 2023, Helios Klinikum Berlin Buch performed an amputation at the lower third of the thigh. Two months later, she received a prosthetic and started physical therapy. She quickly learned to walk confidently, now goes out on her own to socialize and even attends modeling classes. But due to her growth, the shape of the stump has changed — her leg turns blue and she experiences tingling while wearing the prosthetic. An urgent new prosthesis is needed, as the old one no longer fits. At her last examination in Schwerin (held every 3 months), a new cost estimate was issued. The family is fighting hard to prevent her from going back to a wheelchair.
