Mikhail spent the first 3 years of his life in an orphanage. Due to a congenital condition, he couldn’t even sit, let alone walk. He was adopted and his new mother did everything to help him stand and walk. Numerous surgeries in Germany and Israel helped rebuild his feet and legs — and after five years, Mikhail started to walk. But a year ago, complications arose. German doctors recommended urgent surgery on his foot. His mother, raising him alone, was able to cover diagnostic costs but can’t afford the operation.
