DECEMBER 2018

Greetings, dear friends!
Thank you for your support. In November, we have paid for:
the accommodation during the period of treatment for the family of Veronica Kurpas, 12 years old, Kiev, tuberculous osteitis;
the treatment of Bogdan Nutrikhin, 8 years old, Syktyvkar, epiphriscuses after the oncology;
the translation services for the treatment for Denis Krasnikov, 14, Voronezh, cerebral palsy;
the accommodation during the period of rehabilitation for Lisa Ekimova, 7 years old, Tomsk, cerebral palsy;
а special stroller for Dima Sergienko, 11 years old, Voronezh. cerebral palsy;
the debt to the clinic for the treatment of Masha Laputina, 2 year old, Sumy region, cerebral hemorrhage, shunting.

Here are the names of our care-receivers that we wish to help in this month before the New Year.

Nicolay Borzov, 6 years old, St. Petersburg, diagnoses: pulmonary fibrosis, retinopathy, maldsorption syndrome, celiac disease, bleeding disorder. Nicolay, along with his twin brother, was born a way before the due date – at the 27th week of pregnancy. Both brothers are disabled from birth. Yet Nicolay was the least fortunate. On the second month of his life, he was diagnosed with the retinopathy of prematurity. The child underwent 4 eye surgeries with a period of 1-2 months, but but they were not able to save his vision. Later, the oxygen deficiency began to develop and grew into the pulmonary fibrosis. Now he requires a constant oxygen ventilation. At the background of this disease, the child developed hypotrophy (he refuses to eat). At the age of 6, the child weighs 11 kg with the lenght of 94 cm. He is fed through a gastrostoma. Due to the low immunity, the child gets to intensive care at any slightest SARS. Every year Nicolay undergoes all the necessary observations and treatments, but his condition worsens, and the doctors in Russia cannot help him. The doctors from the St. Augustine Clinic in Germany suggest that it is possible to improve his condition by precise dosing of medecine.
For this, the clinic sets a bill of EUR 32,500.
Serkova Tatyana, from the Moscow region, since the age of 6 years was diagnosed with bilateral sensorineural deafness.
Tatiana followed Germanic studies and studied philology, gold embroidery, theology and pedagogy in three Russian universities. For about 20 years she has been teaching gold embroidery and church sewing in various parishes in Russia, as well as in Germany. In 1991, for the first time in Russia, she got an advanced implant set by a German professor Ernst Lenhardt. Yet a recent observation in Germany revealed that already for a long time the implant should be replaced. This is still impossible to do in Russia. The reimplantation surgery in Germany is required, the cost of which is EUR 40,000.
Nikita Kucherenko, 18 years old, Nikolaev, cerebral palsy.
We have been helping Nikita for several years and are happy with his success.
His story in brief:
On December 10, 2000 two twin brothers came into being. The doctors only managed to save Nikita. In a month, the doctors have discovered that he had 4th degree hemorrhage in the left hemisphere and a cyst of the frontal-temporal part of the brain. The doctors’ sentence was terrible: the child would be a crippled idiot, not even able to help himself. Yet the mother, who alone brings up Nikita and his younger sister, and the grandmother did not give up. Over the years, Nikita underwent several surgeries, dozens of rehabilitation courses and has achieved a great success. He walks by himself, does well at school, organizes classes in a sports club for teenagers with disabilities, enjoys computer science and wins math competitions.
The next rehabilitation course in the Ratingen clinic is scheduled for January 6th. The cost is EUR 3960. Advance payment has been already made. It remains to collect EUR 2,460.
Alexey Sebov, 2 years old, Odessa, diagnoses: congenital malformations of the central nervous system , corpus callosum hypoplasia, bulbar syndrome, tetraparesis, рartial atrophy of the optic nerve , central amovrosis, lagophthalmos, bilateral ptosis, infant epileptic encephalopathy, mitochondrial dysfunction, congenital persistent herpes infection, left pyeloctasia, hypoxia, ischemia, problems with the cervical spine, brain edema. The child was put on artificial respiration. For these two years, the parents have been treating the baby, have been rehabilitating him, and bring him to the doctors for diagnositics. In Ukraine, a child with such a set of diseases and problems cannot be helped. The primary task is to stop the epileptic seizures. It is necessary to examine the child and to find the right treatment. They are ready to do this in the epileptic center in Bonn, Germany. The bill amounts to EUR 3,000.

To conclude, let me remind you that we collect the funds only on our two accounts, the details of which are listed below! More about this please find at our website: www.orthodiakonia.de/pozhertvovat/
HURRY TO DO GOOD!

I heartily hug you,
yours Alina Titova
