At the age of 2, after suffering from encephalitis of unknown etiology, Vova began having epileptic seizures. The child has a severe disability. When the war began in Ukraine, the family moved to Germany. The boy is being treated by doctors at Düsseldorf University Hospital. At present, the German doctors have done everything they can to help Vova.
A new method of treating epilepsy, the RNS stimulator, has now been developed in the United States. In Germany, this stimulator is implanted only in adults. In the United States and Canada, it is also used for children. Texas Children’s Hospital has agreed to accept Vladimir for examination and will cover all medical expenses. However, help is needed to pay for the tickets. The flights cost about 4,500 euros.
Volunteer help is also needed in Frankfurt on September 13–15 – with accommodation and interpreting at the embassy. If anyone can help, please write to us.
